About the event

After selecting your piece, you can choose any color of underglaze to paint on your vessel. I will provide the underglaze and paint brushes, feel free to browse the web for designs you like. Some examples of key words to search for a design are "block printing" or "linocut designs" because this technique is closely related to printmaking. After painting forms onto your vessel, you will use a needle tool to add the details, carving out of the clay to make lines and whorls. After choosing your final glaze colors or accent colors, I will fire the pieces in my kiln. The firing process can take anywhere from 3 weeks to a month and a half. Pick up will be at my home address which I will provide at the class. All finished pieces will completely food safe, and safe for microwave, oven, and dishwasher use.
